American Culture

buy. sell. rent. eat. play. that seems to be America in a box. our nation definately has a staple on the rest of the world. we "do our thang" when disaters strike and our civilization has been imitated all thru the sand countries. but you've got to admit that we ourselves have got some work to do on the home front. we have obssessive behavior when it comes to how we do everything. why do we do that? does everything have to b.i.g.? whatever happened to self control? is life just getting too hard to cope with so we turn to overcompensation to make it right? no matter how much we take in things are only going to change when we decide our own fate. stop leaving your fate to chance or society to tell you how to be. our being belongs to us first. get off the ground and decide not to ever lay down again. -Janus

Live Your Life…
As a human-as a person-I have been born
As a human-as a baby-I begin to grow
As a human-as a girl-I start to develop
As a human-as a teen-I grow feelings
As a human-as a woman-I plant seeds
As a human-as a lady-my heart bleeds
Listen:
I know that life is life and it will be whatever it will be
It would exist if life was nothing or an everlasting eternity
But to grow is to learn what life is to you
There fore you can’t live your life the way others do
A man and a woman must plant their own seeds-understand?
When you get to that point stop looking for helping hands
If there’s anything too big for you the wrong shoes are being worn
Don’t do it too long though, because it will be your plant that’s torn
Live Your Life. -Janus

In The Moment

There is no other place to be except in the moment. For it is this time in which we can understand our being as far as we chose to see. Understand I said “the being that we chose to see”. We are many things at many different times and it’s up to us to determine exactly what that is. Now, there are those that know their state of being and chose to live in it, good or bad, and it isn’t up to anyone to judge them because they know who they are. Not all of us do, but most of us want to know. The funny thing is: we all know who and what we are we just don’t want to acknowledge or admit to it (a.k.a. denial). We are what we eat, hang around, say, dress, style, go; places, etc. so next time you want to know just who you are….pay attention and just be in the moment. -Janus

Chemistry

if i were a scientist it would be easier for you to take my scientific advice. instead i am a c.s.r that pays attention to what goes on around me. now with chemistry you've got lot's of elements that make up things (whatever that means in scientific terms) and everything doesn't always work well together. take for instance oil and water, they don't mix right? that's because they are two scientific elements that don't work well together. what if we looked at relationships and maneuvers as we see scientific elements that can and cannot work well together. what relationships are like oil and water in or lives? relationships and maneuvers that pop and burn? what's going on and what are we doing? what makes some of us stars and some of us trees? and snakes? clouds? planets? it's a beautiful thing isn't it? you know, everything we do isn't always what we should be doing (da!), but we do them because we feel we are capable of dealing with these things that we do. when they work out, gosh you feel like you're winning the game. when they don't work we "retreat" to gain our "right minds back". where does our right minds go? do we lose them for moments because we just don't care about things because caring about things hasn't been "working" well? do we run from things only to find they have gotten worse? maybe we should start reading science books again..... _Janus

Intellectuals…
The war within ourselves is a heaven and hell
There are always two sides of we
Colliding into atmospheres in space
To be inside is like a renewal of the earth
Always uncertain of what is next
Making decisions always
And what do we really know?
Will we ever be experts and masters because we didn’t create space, atmospheres, bodies, animals, concrete, light, thinking brains
The greatest doctor couldn’t tell me about myself and why I do the things I do
Only the one that created me, who created us
To many people walk through life like they have all the answers
Like they have it all figured out
Ha!
American Kings and Queens are Julia Roberts, P. Diddy and the first Families
Celebrities and politicians
The massive amount of those that do not have that genetic make-up are believed that they are not much of anything
We learn from the world
This world is supposed to teach us how to be
And oh do they do it well:
Make money be rich have fun at the expense of the ones that have not because there must always be differences among us
How sad are they? Who cares?
Take care of yourselves and your families and when you get to the point to where you have influence over laws we will give you justice for your financial grace
Thank You
We are americans. -Janus

Declared Extinct…
Being used is a feeling like no other
It is an immeasurable hurt that has no merit and makes no sense to the one being used
How easy it is to say we are not needed
Yet without us our loved ones would not survive the everyday
When we fall out of love and the youth of the relationship has vanished the only way to go is to the side of the spectrum that is untouched
The side that belongs solely to ourselves
Those of us that love tru have become a rare form that needs to be declared extinct
Because users take us as guinea pigs in their personal cocoons and weave us into butterflies of their private functions
So we rare lovers are the new walking menstrual show
The walking dead
And why?
For the reason that becomes shame in the eyes of the abused
It is careless to not appreciate love
In fact it is easier to completely dismiss love like an old pair of socks
A thing that is verbalized that can be lived without
Yet when the resources fail you the one that is turned to, the true one, has been ridiculed for having courage to delve into love -Janus

Space and Time

space and time. to names with similar meanings. in both you can find opportunity. but one you can never get back. time, as we know, has this way of working on us that no other existence can. it speaks to our inner selves and let's us know to "get it while the gettin's good" and "if it ain't broke don't fix it"-if you know what i mean. space, on the other hand, gives us time to realize these notions that make up our lives and existences. they surely work together, collective even. the thing with both of these, space and time, is how we often forget how much they mean in relation to one another in reference to our time here on earth. life is meant to be enjoyed 1st. we can intellectualize, philosophy and materialize life all day but in reality just enjoy your time and space here because if you don't you're just asking for a foot in six feet under before your time. life is a thing to be explored by the beholder. it is yours and never forget that. i believe we treat the necessities of life better than we treat the act itself. living gets to us and we just climb in our bat caves and wait for the final breath. i think your life deserves more than that. i think you deserve better! just give yourself some space (time) and you'll realize it's all inside...breathe. -Janus

Deal...or no Deal

deals. we love them. we love to obtain them. we love to be apart of them. some of us make them. most of us benefit from them. what would we be without them? just a nation of mediocrity? nothing to look forward to? no sense of change and revolution. this writer's strike is a great example of how deals affect our culture. for if they don't come up with a compromising deal our television experience will be something we will no longer look forward to. deals let us know that there's more out there that we haven't yet obtained or experienced. it's a feeling of justice in this world of unjust actions, because when you come out on top you wonder what else you might be missing out on. deals, gotta love 'em. when was your last come up (deal)? big deal? deal...or no deal? -Janus

The Game

on the streets the word is: the game is to be sold not told. so the fact that this blog (and many more out there) are free is a great thing for us all. us serious bloggers feel that we have something to offer that mainstream media doesn't. there is so much unrest in this nation for one subject to the next that we really do need something that we can understand in the real world. the thing about the game of life is there are many games you can play. in grade school we were taught to "play well with others", as we get older we notice that we don't always want to do that. the thing is at some point in our lives we are going to have to play some game and if you chose not to well that is the game you chose to play. just remember, they also say on the streets: don't hate the player, hate the game! -Janus

Dreams

these days everybody has a "big dream". and there are many outlets to fulfill them. some of us just sit on the sidelines watching and waiting for our chance. but what determines the winners from those that never get a chance to fulfill? it is most certainly the eye of the tiger and your hunger! i mean if you really want something don't you go out and get it? and you most likely determine what you want by how much you're willing to do for that "klondike bar". moral? moral is: you win when you do what everyone else doesn't do. otherwise you're an unoriginal copycat trying to capitalize off of someone else's win. when you win for you you win for your life your desire your prize your destiny. -J

If you are a boy of the ghetto
You would’ve been a boy of the plantation streets
400 years ago
You would’ve been a boy of the masters trying to keep up motivation for life when you’re bed ridden from the sickness of merely waking up
If you are a child of the ghetto life
You would not have belonged to yourself
You would be living and dying while breathing knowing that you will live a slave
Die a slave
If you are a parent of the ghetto
You would spend nights worrying if this was the last night to see your baby
400 years ago
If you are a female of the ghetto
Home alone means not knocking on doors but bombarding entering puritan walls and she’s crying because she knows not of lovemaking just breastfeeding
400 years ago
Your life ain’t as good.
And Now:
You rush thru the streets mashin’ for the life of HUSTLE ‘cause that’s as far as you can see
On escapades of rendezvous missing and leaving behind clues that determine paternity
Bling Blingin’ trying to stay sing singing blues bluesin’
Wanting everything and working for nothing
Taking for granted that you’re something
And the ones that have made it monetary easy gain highs off of dining in the finest of the devils palaces
Playing in his courts
Drinking his blood
Fondling his cats
Eating his meats
Freaking his sheets
Tasting the fire starts to feel good once it’s Luke warm
And when it gets too hot you run to buildings created for slaves on knees
I’m ashamed to look at you
What is this pattern I see ?
I WILL BECOME EVERYBODY ELSE BUT ME!
You refuse to open up and hear a voice of choice so round
Because it feels good to be bad
400 years ago there was not room enough for this wasted time
400 years ago I could still rhyme
400 years ago you had mind
400 years ago you shined
400 years ago you cried
400 years ago you died
400 years ago you asked,”why?”
400 years ago I say goodbye
400 years ago we vent
400 years ago I sent
400 years ago sing songs
400 years ago days long
400 years ago wake up
400 years ago show yo’ stuff
400 years ago no breath
400 years ago last one left
400 years ago wasn’t long
400 years ago same song
400 years ago I’m done
400 years later the battle is won! -Janus

Cheating...

when you cheat who does it really affect? don't you lose? 'cause weather it's gambling or love doesn't it affect you the hardest based on the fact that you ruined something that may have been able to be fixed with genuine love and verbal attention? why do we ruin things? what is the problem here?! if you have been with someone for a certain amount of time don't you have an obligation to communicate life that is shared? wake up....wake up! -J

S.E.X…
So much done
So little time
We sit
We wonder
Wine and dine
True love we’ve never known
Walking the earth perceiving “grown”
Actions is what leads to oxymoron consequences
We grow and find a feeling doesn’t change much unless it is your vice -Janus

Inspiration

inspiration is something we all need. take for instance this blog. it is here to inspire me to do and be more of what i want to see out of the world and my hope always is that it does the same for others. we are all born with a dream (i hope) and over time it is up to our parents and then us to make that dream come to life. in that we inspire ourselves and others. how cool would it be to know that what we thought could be seen right before our very eyes. it's almost like magic. somethings we might forget on our dream journeys are to make sure we develop plans of action and not just made up fantasies that we really don't believe can happen to us. that is when we must question our belief in ourselves. support is also healthy inspiration. support can lead us into the promised land as well because as we know it's all inside and it is us that determine our own destiny's. we can say that it is everyone and everything around us but it is ultimately up to us to put in the work. this is true for any walk of life, but especially for those that take the road less traveled. it can be a hard long walk to a place we've never been but want to call home. so to those of us that travel long and hard....take the force with you (the force within). -J

Ingredients of Life

wouldn't it be so simple if we could cook up life as we cook up dinner and dessert? if we knew the outcome to a no-fail plan of action? wouldn't it be great if we could keep out the salt where it does not belong and the sugar could also use some observation. well of course the truth is we can't just cook up our lives like a meal, but we are the chefs. as times progress we often figure out our own way and some of us never do because they never become their own chefs. some people just can't cook, but they make great spectators of the sport. -J

What's in a Name?

who are you and what is your name? more importantly, what's in your name? what does your name say about you? does it say everything or a little bit? in our lives we go thru with the name we have had from our birth certificate. as we grow into ourselves we often times realize we either embody that name or we don't. in some cases we are so far from our births existence that we change our whole look and way of life. we run into our safe environments and create the life we feel fits our soul. in a name we find ourselves and our world...what's your name? -J

Any Losers Out There?

let's face it: none of us want to be losers! but what we have to realize is that in order to be a winner we have to compete in the field of which we desire to win. how easy some of us decide to compete in a bubble amongst our safe team. well we'll see how far that gets us. in order for us to win we really have to sweat it out. and i'm not talking about that cute sweat. i'm talking that dripping from the forehead sweat that gets into your eyes funky sweat. moral? moral is: not all of us is going to be number 1, but once you compete in your field the confidence you take away can lead you into places you never thought existed. do you! and go where the day takes you. -J

What's In Your Gut?

in this day and age everyone is trying to tell us "how to be". lifestyle experts is what they call them. who in the hell told someone that they had the secrets to living? well, apparently there is a market for them to flourish as well as they do. there is also something that is very important in this process of living that we most often ignore...you! we do so much in a day and in the meantime we have no idea how much we neglect ourselves. one way we can start looking into what's going on with us is to look at our guts. now i know it sounds funny but our gut says a lot about where we are in life with ourselves. they say different things about us: post-pregnancy, eating habits in general, medical reasons, depression, lifestyle, etc. our guts also speak to us (especially women). there are things in which we know we are supposed to do everyday and often times we neglect them. let's try something different. let's fix our gut and just maybe we will fix ourselves. -J

Customer Service is Dead

well i guess this title says everything i mean to say in this blog today. i'm so tired of going out in this society and being treated like trash from those that are paid (poorly obviously) to treat me like a consumer of product. i'm no snob by any means but these customer service reps are starting to get out of hand. i'm a c.s.r. myself and if i did 1/2 the things that get done to me at work i would be out of a job. and i know what the problem is: these multi-billion dollar companies that we get flagged with daily are paying these people pennies and asking them to treat people like royalty and the numbers aren't adding up. it's false advertising though, because on the commercials they pretty much tell us: "hey, we're here for you" and when you go to the actual establishment it's like every man for themselves, don't ask nobody nothin' 'cause they really don't want to help you. customer service is surely dead. -J

Entertainers

well, there are those of us that teach, those of us that do and those of us that do things B.I.G. entertainers. they (of course) entertain us, they wow us, they make us forget our crappy existence and they make us feel good. we lose ourselves in them and some of us actually take it so far as to be called fanatics (fans!). is this even healthy? hey, personally i don't think so but a lot of us do it. i've had my share of being a fan but today these celebs are just too accepting of our fortunes (or the lack thereof) enhancing theirs while we work like dogs day to day with no real options other than the ones we give ourselves. they get all high and mighty rich and forget that without our support they are nothing. but oh no! because we have made them now the endorsements come and give to them because we will buy into that also. where does it end? it ends with us and how we chose to spend our money. period. -J

Mad at the World

one might read this blog and think that i'm some angry individual. there's a lot that goes on in a day and the things that tend to sick out are the negative. those are the emotions and actions that seem easier to remember. the good times just seem to roll and the bad times scar our memories like the plague. well, what do we do about that? i'm no monk, i'm just a person who writes a blog in order to figure out this whole "life" thing. honestly i live in a nation (a world) that's so cold that it bites. i wonder around trying to learn what to do because i wasn't taught. my foundation was weak but i am determined for a strong ending. all i know is i need real love on my side and then i can see this thing a little more clearly. love is a word we throw around each day: "i love you", "love cheeseburgers", "i love trl..." and this word is a healing word. love heals us. it let's us know that everything will be okay no matter what's going on. so whenever you get a little angry or mad at the world yourself....remember who and what you love and smile! -J
