while we wait for change
what will we do with our children?
what will we do with ourselves?
while we wait for change
what do we do when we see wrong?
do we pass or let it slide?
while we wait for change
what is going on in America's homes?
in America's heart?
what drives the beat?
so many questions because i don't know
i'm just a girl with a empathetic heart that wants to see children be children at play
and not accustomed to a broken heart.

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE MESSAGE:
i just wanted to share briefly on why i wrote this poem today. i was just at wal-mart and while in line the little boy behind me asked his dad a question. he said," dad i want to tell you something but if i tell you you might beat me for it." so as i heard this my heart immediately cried out to this little guy. and he was just 8 or 9 years old happy to be with his dad. and i couldn't do anything about what i just heard because he still would have to live with his father. i couldn't just take him away and wash my hands of this. but it also got me thinking about how many children or people in general are being abused and become accustom to it. there are some real issues out there in the world and my heart just breaks when i see children be their gleeful little selves and they love their parents regardless of what they do to them because that's all they know. it's a sad reality that we live in and i know that it will never stop and it's a vicious cycle that spins until someone makes the decision to end the madness...

Sounds Like Something Wonderful
sounds like joy
sounds like peace
sounds like fun
a bite to eat
sounds like the future
sounds like the past
sounds like the present never lasts
sounds like change
sounds like obama
sounds like mary j
"no more drama"
(i had to!)
sounds like life
sounds like breath
sounds like someday death
sounds like you
sounds like me
something wonderful
stylish
free
sounds like the end
the green pasture
sounds like love ever after...

When This Thing Unfolds let it Be
when this thing that is inside unfolds
just let it be
let it breathe for the world to see
come into mine
as i have come
let life live in its darkest hour
were you there when i laid my reservations down?
when i decided to pick up the crown?
were you there when the changed transpired?
no?, well let it be that you know now
that no more will i lay down
& give up the blessings that were given to me
so that every living thing can see
when this thing unfolds
just please let it be

Too Bad
it's too bad that i have to say good-bye to my old self
the me that was troubled while walking the streets
the me that worried about what everyone else wanted of me
the me that cared a little too much about the wrong things
the me that was frightened of the beast
surely, i must say good-bye
cause that wasn't me
that was the FCC version
the PC replica
the survival Janus
and that is no way to live
but now you have a new improved version to hate upon
and talk about on the phone
and in your subconscious
cause i've officially drank the i don't care kool-aid
HELLO WORLD...

Now I Can Say That I Love You America
now i can say that i love you america
now i can say you care
it's been so long;me loving you
i'm surprised the feeling is still there
i have awaited your love like a patient princess
waiting for my prince to arrive
now that you're here as king & queen shall we ride
into the promised land of frozen dreams held in the air
for time has moistened the cloud so let it rain
let the beauty of life continue to flow through my mind, mouth & pen
again, america: i love you
and it is now that i hear your answer too
it is now that we are one
and i must say it feels good!

President Barack Obama
so the day has finally come. a day that many never thought would come or at least so soon in our country of America. wow. i must say that i've never been compelled to even capitalize America before because although i'm from this country i've always felt like a step-child here. now i must say that to see the Obamas, the new King & Queen of America i feel ready for the world. i do feel that anything is surely possible. what a beautiful family, what a day. i've been watching it all day from the tube & i'm exhausted! i could just imagine how the Obamas feel.
well, this is officially it. no more excuses. we can do it all. all Americans. America isn't just a white mans fantasy and on this day with the swearing in of President Barack Obama i am extremely excited about the new America to come because i know that there is room for me anywhere i choose.
p.s. to those many brave minds, bodies & souls of our countries past i thank you for your diligence to make this day a reality in my life. and as i am a young woman in my 20s to see this happen so willingly i truly have a reason to dream as big as ever. you fought for me though you didn't know me. you labored to make living a wonderful experience for me although it was a very low reality that your life was a happy one (do to many unnecessary circumstances) and so i feel it is my duty to thank you for making my life what it is today. and my promise to your legacy is that i will climb to the top of my dreams because that is exactly what you fought for and i do believe i owe that much to your struggle for a free world.

Messages
there is something special that i would like to discuss tonite. i'd like to shine a light on the messages that are driven into us on a daily basis as americans but most importantly as human beings. the messages i am speaking of are subliminal. in fact, they are hidden in such a way that our standard of living and how we look at ourselves are a direct by-product of this reality. it seems that being the person that God rightfully made is not good enough anymore in our society. but being a highly marketable productive machine of marvelous luxurious enterprise is what we are made to believe is the higher driven force. there are messages that are pumped into our minds and souls that affect our mental state on a daily basis and it is these things that promote anxiety, anger and depression in our everyday lives.
everyday we are allotted the gift of life we should be extremely happy and excited. sure, things happen that may get us down and everyday all day living is not some happy-go-lucky fantasy excursion but it also doesn't have to be a physical emotional battle for money, power, respect and supreme social status.
we have to stop this poison from tearing apart our chances of pushing through to our dreams for a life that we deserve to live; a better life.
remember: you only have one life to live and in life a legacy can be a great thing to strive for. whether it be children, breaking a record, being a genuine individual or being recognized for a job well done a legacy is something that we can all experience good or bad.
what direction is your legacy going toward?

Too Much Trouble Being Me
as i sit and think about the world in retrospect
i find that i take myself way too seriously
because whenever i want to conquer one of my out-of-sight notions i contemplate the idea way too long
see the world could never be what it is today if the leaders took the necessities to heart longer than need be
& you just gotta know that what you want will get done because you will make the necessary moves in order to see the notion manifest itself
& the time you spend turning the idea over in your head the next person has lived out the dream anyway tenfold
so the lesson of the day is: just do it like nike says & stop over analyzing what you want or take the risk of establishing your idea in a whole new mindset or world view
or you can settle for a "just" life

I Was Taught
i was taught to look both ways before crossing the street
i was taught to respect my elders
i was taught to treat everyone equally
i was taught to go to church every sunday, participate in whatever i could & enjoy it whether i liked it or not
i was taught to make good grades as well as citizenship grades in school
i was taught punctuality
i was taught to do the right thing
& as i have grown to learn about the functions of the world:
all that cramp ain't nothing but a bunch of passive-aggressive b-s that will get me nowhere!
see in life you just have to beast your way through and don't look back unless you care about who sees you
& you reap what you sew so it's best to plant seeds of success as early as you can so the reaping shall proceed without hesitation
see life is purely poetic
she is slick in nature
but practical in the ways of wisdom
this is my story
to unlearn what i have learned in order to become the woman i see myself to be
therefore Poeticca is the only thing that could describe my foundation as i prepare to capture the most longing heart of man...
(this is what i have taught myself)

It is time to move into the known from the unknown
It is time to learn the unlearned
It is time.
It is time to understand what you don't understand
Because what you don’t know can kill you
It is time.
Yes we talk of the fact that it’s time but who is really ready to fight this lonely war with me?
Where no one but a lonely few understand we have to go it alone
Are you ready for your loved ones to write you off based on the fact that they just don’t understand that a new world is creeping upon us and what are we going to do?
Do you understand your responsibility once you know your purpose in life?
Do you understand that it is your obligation to fulfill that purpose?
See most of us don’t know that it is up to us to be there for the next 50 years then our time just may be up
And there will be a world to contend with that we just may not approve off
I am a revolutionary
I have a cause
Do you?
Or are you just an onlooker?
It is time to rise out of fear and let your conscience be your guide this time.
Who wants to roll inside of innovation rotation?
50 years
50 years
50 years
It is time.

This Is Flowers
plant me a seed
a me seed in mind
read the poetry
in heaven you may find
you may find delight
my may find answers
you may find truth hereafter
this is flowers.
plant you a seed
a you seed in me
what shall i find?
you tell me
this is flowers.
where earth grows
what life knows
what we show
what we don't
this is flowers
how we move
sometimes simultaneously
sometimes smooth
most times rude!
shrewd
crude
sometimes things settle badly in our minds
we walk about dead on the inside
this is flowers.
we give each other to each other
this is flowers.
we cry because of one another
this is flowers.
we grow together
this is flowers.
we are a lifetime bouquet
we are flowers.

Ingredients
so i decided to try something that i've been wanting to do for quite sometime now. most often we don't think twice about the actual components we put on or inside of our physical bodies. so i thought if we knew the exact function of the fragrances and foods we consume on a daily basis then we will be more conscious therefore leading us into the promised land of knowledge! this will be a continuing series of entries that will feature food items as well. today we will showcase bath & body works. i'm enjoying their midnight pomegranate fragrance right now and these are the ingredients of the body splash all the way down to the coloring. just double click the link below the ingredient to find the truth behind the scientific name. the things we do for beauty are very interesting...
