While We Wait for Change

while we wait for change
what will we do with our children?
what will we do with ourselves?
while we wait for change
what do we do when we see wrong?
do we pass or let it slide?
while we wait for change
what is going on in America's homes?
in America's heart?
what drives the beat?
so many questions because i don't know
i'm just a girl with a empathetic heart that wants to see children be children at play
and not accustomed to a broken heart.

-Janus Poeticca

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE MESSAGE:
i just wanted to share briefly on why i wrote this poem today. i was just at wal-mart and while in line the little boy behind me asked his dad a question. he said," dad i want to tell you something but if i tell you you might beat me for it." so as i heard this my heart immediately cried out to this little guy. and he was just 8 or 9 years old happy to be with his dad. and i couldn't do anything about what i just heard because he still would have to live with his father. i couldn't just take him away and wash my hands of this. but it also got me thinking about how many children or people in general are being abused and become accustom to it. there are some real issues out there in the world and my heart just breaks when i see children be their gleeful little selves and they love their parents regardless of what they do to them because that's all they know. it's a sad reality that we live in and i know that it will never stop and it's a vicious cycle that spins until someone makes the decision to end the madness...
