2008: a list

what happened this year? man, i don't even know. to me it didn't fly by too fast. i moved to a new state to pursue my dream life and learned some valuable life lessons along the way....

1. well i can't go without mentioning the biggest historical moment to me: Barack Obama! The first African-American President, wow. and it's funny i was talking to some people about this same issue 2 years ago and they thought a black man couldn't ever successfully run what they considered a white mans program. well, i guess we shall see how our country turns over in these next couple of years.
2. gas was to damn high this summer! i'll say no more.
3. ny giants won the superbowl, celtics won their championship & that's the most i know in the sports world, yay!
4. beyonce & jay-z finally got married. black love at it's finest!
5. can i say recession without making anyone depressed? but for those of us that are in that middle ground shouts out to you for weathering this financial storm. and from what i hear it's far from over.
6. iphone was re-released at a cheaper rate than it's introductory price and the cell phone wars began!
7. the olympics happened and the only thing we can remember is micheal phelps and his historic 8 medals. you go boy!
9. philadelphia became known as killadelphia. i'll say no more
10. we lost some greats: eartha kitt, issac hayes, bernie mac (& those two in the same weekend!), shakir stewart, paul newman, estelle getty, heath ledger, george carlin
11. mariah carey married nick cannon. as least she didn't have to change her initials!
12. britney made her comeback. whatever!
13. stimulus checks happened...holla! especially to those with kids i know those checks came through.
14. tina fey made sarah palin more of a high profile politician than she would have been just by being herself.
15. foreclosures hit a all time low.
16. lil' wayne & his lollipop became a phenomenon
17. the dream had a summer hit with "i love ur girl"

so in a nutshell that was really 2008. the scandals started to get cheesy and the true intentions of the world are more apparent: get money or you will be left behind!
so with that said my final words of the year to all: make your life what you want it to be. there is much to be seen and done in this world that has yet to be completed. we all have a role to play and within it all we fit. love yourself and you'll instantly realize there's more that you want in your life on many levels, but know that everything in life worth having is a fight to the finish because we all want the great american dream. cause at the end of the day money is the real superstar, we're just lucky to come in second if we get a chance to shine at all. PEACE.
HAPPY NEW YEAR & MANY BLESSINGS TO ALL!
