deals. we love them. we love to obtain them. we love to be apart of them. some of us make them. most of us benefit from them. what would we be without them? just a nation of mediocrity? nothing to look forward to? no sense of change and revolution. this writer's strike is a great example of how deals affect our culture. for if they don't come up with a compromising deal our television experience will be something we will no longer look forward to. deals let us know that there's more out there that we haven't yet obtained or experienced. it's a feeling of justice in this world of unjust actions, because when you come out on top you wonder what else you might be missing out on. deals, gotta love 'em. when was your last come up (deal)? big deal? deal...or no deal? -Janus

The Game
on the streets the word is: the game is to be sold not told. so the fact that this blog (and many more out there) are free is a great thing for us all. us serious bloggers feel that we have something to offer that mainstream media doesn't. there is so much unrest in this nation for one subject to the next that we really do need something that we can understand in the real world. the thing about the game of life is there are many games you can play. in grade school we were taught to "play well with others", as we get older we notice that we don't always want to do that. the thing is at some point in our lives we are going to have to play some game and if you chose not to well that is the game you chose to play. just remember, they also say on the streets: don't hate the player, hate the game! -Janus

Dreams
these days everybody has a "big dream". and there are many outlets to fulfill them. some of us just sit on the sidelines watching and waiting for our chance. but what determines the winners from those that never get a chance to fulfill? it is most certainly the eye of the tiger and your hunger! i mean if you really want something don't you go out and get it? and you most likely determine what you want by how much you're willing to do for that "klondike bar". moral? moral is: you win when you do what everyone else doesn't do. otherwise you're an unoriginal copycat trying to capitalize off of someone else's win. when you win for you you win for your life your desire your prize your destiny. -J

If you are a boy of the ghetto
You would’ve been a boy of the plantation streets
400 years ago
You would’ve been a boy of the masters trying to keep up motivation for life when you’re bed ridden from the sickness of merely waking up
If you are a child of the ghetto life
You would not have belonged to yourself
You would be living and dying while breathing knowing that you will live a slave
Die a slave
If you are a parent of the ghetto
You would spend nights worrying if this was the last night to see your baby
400 years ago
If you are a female of the ghetto
Home alone means not knocking on doors but bombarding entering puritan walls and she’s crying because she knows not of lovemaking just breastfeeding
400 years ago
Your life ain’t as good.
And Now:
You rush thru the streets mashin’ for the life of HUSTLE ‘cause that’s as far as you can see
On escapades of rendezvous missing and leaving behind clues that determine paternity
Bling Blingin’ trying to stay sing singing blues bluesin’
Wanting everything and working for nothing
Taking for granted that you’re something
And the ones that have made it monetary easy gain highs off of dining in the finest of the devils palaces
Playing in his courts
Drinking his blood
Fondling his cats
Eating his meats
Freaking his sheets
Tasting the fire starts to feel good once it’s Luke warm
And when it gets too hot you run to buildings created for slaves on knees
I’m ashamed to look at you
What is this pattern I see ?
I WILL BECOME EVERYBODY ELSE BUT ME!
You refuse to open up and hear a voice of choice so round
Because it feels good to be bad
400 years ago there was not room enough for this wasted time
400 years ago I could still rhyme
400 years ago you had mind
400 years ago you shined
400 years ago you cried
400 years ago you died
400 years ago you asked,”why?”
400 years ago I say goodbye
400 years ago we vent
400 years ago I sent
400 years ago sing songs
400 years ago days long
400 years ago wake up
400 years ago show yo’ stuff
400 years ago no breath
400 years ago last one left
400 years ago wasn’t long
400 years ago same song
400 years ago I’m done
400 years later the battle is won! -Janus

Cheating...
when you cheat who does it really affect? don't you lose? 'cause weather it's gambling or love doesn't it affect you the hardest based on the fact that you ruined something that may have been able to be fixed with genuine love and verbal attention? why do we ruin things? what is the problem here?! if you have been with someone for a certain amount of time don't you have an obligation to communicate life that is shared? wake up....wake up! -J

So much done
So little time
We sit
We wonder
Wine and dine
True love we’ve never known
Walking the earth perceiving “grown”
Actions is what leads to oxymoron consequences
We grow and find a feeling doesn’t change much unless it is your vice -Janus

Inspiration
inspiration is something we all need. take for instance this blog. it is here to inspire me to do and be more of what i want to see out of the world and my hope always is that it does the same for others. we are all born with a dream (i hope) and over time it is up to our parents and then us to make that dream come to life. in that we inspire ourselves and others. how cool would it be to know that what we thought could be seen right before our very eyes. it's almost like magic. somethings we might forget on our dream journeys are to make sure we develop plans of action and not just made up fantasies that we really don't believe can happen to us. that is when we must question our belief in ourselves. support is also healthy inspiration. support can lead us into the promised land as well because as we know it's all inside and it is us that determine our own destiny's. we can say that it is everyone and everything around us but it is ultimately up to us to put in the work. this is true for any walk of life, but especially for those that take the road less traveled. it can be a hard long walk to a place we've never been but want to call home. so to those of us that travel long and hard....take the force with you (the force within). -J
