wouldn't it be so simple if we could cook up life as we cook up dinner and dessert? if we knew the outcome to a no-fail plan of action? wouldn't it be great if we could keep out the salt where it does not belong and the sugar could also use some observation. well of course the truth is we can't just cook up our lives like a meal, but we are the chefs. as times progress we often figure out our own way and some of us never do because they never become their own chefs. some people just can't cook, but they make great spectators of the sport. -J

What's in a Name?
who are you and what is your name? more importantly, what's in your name? what does your name say about you? does it say everything or a little bit? in our lives we go thru with the name we have had from our birth certificate. as we grow into ourselves we often times realize we either embody that name or we don't. in some cases we are so far from our births existence that we change our whole look and way of life. we run into our safe environments and create the life we feel fits our soul. in a name we find ourselves and our world...what's your name? -J

Any Losers Out There?
let's face it: none of us want to be losers! but what we have to realize is that in order to be a winner we have to compete in the field of which we desire to win. how easy some of us decide to compete in a bubble amongst our safe team. well we'll see how far that gets us. in order for us to win we really have to sweat it out. and i'm not talking about that cute sweat. i'm talking that dripping from the forehead sweat that gets into your eyes funky sweat. moral? moral is: not all of us is going to be number 1, but once you compete in your field the confidence you take away can lead you into places you never thought existed. do you! and go where the day takes you. -J

What's In Your Gut?
in this day and age everyone is trying to tell us "how to be". lifestyle experts is what they call them. who in the hell told someone that they had the secrets to living? well, apparently there is a market for them to flourish as well as they do. there is also something that is very important in this process of living that we most often ignore...you! we do so much in a day and in the meantime we have no idea how much we neglect ourselves. one way we can start looking into what's going on with us is to look at our guts. now i know it sounds funny but our gut says a lot about where we are in life with ourselves. they say different things about us: post-pregnancy, eating habits in general, medical reasons, depression, lifestyle, etc. our guts also speak to us (especially women). there are things in which we know we are supposed to do everyday and often times we neglect them. let's try something different. let's fix our gut and just maybe we will fix ourselves. -J

Customer Service is Dead
well i guess this title says everything i mean to say in this blog today. i'm so tired of going out in this society and being treated like trash from those that are paid (poorly obviously) to treat me like a consumer of product. i'm no snob by any means but these customer service reps are starting to get out of hand. i'm a c.s.r. myself and if i did 1/2 the things that get done to me at work i would be out of a job. and i know what the problem is: these multi-billion dollar companies that we get flagged with daily are paying these people pennies and asking them to treat people like royalty and the numbers aren't adding up. it's false advertising though, because on the commercials they pretty much tell us: "hey, we're here for you" and when you go to the actual establishment it's like every man for themselves, don't ask nobody nothin' 'cause they really don't want to help you. customer service is surely dead. -J

Entertainers
well, there are those of us that teach, those of us that do and those of us that do things B.I.G. entertainers. they (of course) entertain us, they wow us, they make us forget our crappy existence and they make us feel good. we lose ourselves in them and some of us actually take it so far as to be called fanatics (fans!). is this even healthy? hey, personally i don't think so but a lot of us do it. i've had my share of being a fan but today these celebs are just too accepting of our fortunes (or the lack thereof) enhancing theirs while we work like dogs day to day with no real options other than the ones we give ourselves. they get all high and mighty rich and forget that without our support they are nothing. but oh no! because we have made them now the endorsements come and give to them because we will buy into that also. where does it end? it ends with us and how we chose to spend our money. period. -J

Mad at the World
one might read this blog and think that i'm some angry individual. there's a lot that goes on in a day and the things that tend to sick out are the negative. those are the emotions and actions that seem easier to remember. the good times just seem to roll and the bad times scar our memories like the plague. well, what do we do about that? i'm no monk, i'm just a person who writes a blog in order to figure out this whole "life" thing. honestly i live in a nation (a world) that's so cold that it bites. i wonder around trying to learn what to do because i wasn't taught. my foundation was weak but i am determined for a strong ending. all i know is i need real love on my side and then i can see this thing a little more clearly. love is a word we throw around each day: "i love you", "love cheeseburgers", "i love trl..." and this word is a healing word. love heals us. it let's us know that everything will be okay no matter what's going on. so whenever you get a little angry or mad at the world yourself....remember who and what you love and smile! -J
